Welcome to my website!

I was delighted to be elected on 8th June 2017 as the new Labour MP for Bury North, covering the towns of Bury, Tottington and Ramsbottom and the villages of Affetside, Greenmount, Hawkshaw, Holcombe, Holcombe Brook, Nangreaves, Shuttleworth, Summerseat, Walmerlsey and Walshaw. I promise that, whether you voted for me or not, I will always work hard for you and put your interests first in everything I do.

I am already hard at work on the issues which matter to you – we’ve won our fight to save Bury Walk-In Centre, I’m fighting to improve local bus services and I’m campaigning to re-write the GMSF and protect our precious green belt and working hard to get the best deal for Bury out of Brexit.

Through my role on Parliament’s influential Education Select Committee I’m championing our schools and colleges and fighting for fairer funding to ensure all our children – including those with special educational needs and disabilities – have access to the best possible education.

Check back regularly to keep up to date with what I’m doing in Bury and in Parliament – and don’t forget to subscribe to receive my fortnightly e-newsletter direct to your inbox.
