Bury North’s Labour Women and The Freedom Church have teamed up to put on a free Lunch Club Christmas Party, with food, fun and games, in an effort to combat holiday hunger and to provide a space for local families to come together, socialise and celebrate the Christmas holiday.
Taking place on Friday, December 29 from noon to 2pm at The Freedom Church on Walmersley Road, the Christmas Party is open to all families with school-age children looking for a fun activity during the Christmas break.
The Christmas Party follows on from the successful lunch clubs held during the summer holidays and half term breaks and is supported by Bury North MP James Frith.
Speaking about the club, Bury North MP James Frith said:
“School holidays can be difficult for parents, placing additional strain on often stretched resources to find extra money for meals, festive activities and gifts.
“We have seen shocking reports over recent weeks about the levels of child poverty in the North West and I commend the Bury North Labour Women’s Forum for working with The Freedom Church to put on this event for local families.”
