Bury North MP James Frith is hosting a public ‘town hall’ meeting on education next week with former Coronation Street star and now Shadow Education Minister, Tracy Brabin MP.
The meeting – open to all residents living in Bury, Tottington and Ramsbottom and staff from local nurseries, schools and colleges – will focus on a discussion about education policy and cover everything from early years to schools, further education, higher education and lifelong learning.
“Education has been one of my top priorities since my election as our town’s MP last June. Locally I have campaigned against cuts to our schools and colleges and worked with schools and parents to address issues around exclusions and special educational needs and disabilities. In Parliament I have worked with colleagues across all parties to hold ministers and government agencies to account and raise local concerns with decision makers.
“Now I want to hear from local parents and educators about your priorities for education policy. I’m delighted that Tracy will join me and together we will take back the issues raised to inform our work in Parliament and policy development going forward.”
The meeting will take place at the Freedom Church, 35 Walmersley Road, Bury, at 6pm on Thursday 17th May. Registration is essential.
