The Bishop of Manchester was the guest of honour at an event celebrating Refugee Week in Bury.
The event, hosted by Bury North MP James Frith, brought together local refugees and supporters and support organisations to celebrate the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees in our town.
2018 saw the 20th anniversary of Refugee Week and dozens of people came together to celebrate at the Freedom Church in Bury.
“I was delighted to host this event and acknowledge the important contribution refugees make to our town. It was an honour to be joined by the Bishop of Manchester, who spoke about the importance of welcoming refugees and their role in our society.”
