James Frith is again looking for Bury’s favourite boozer as the second year of the Parliamentary Pub of the Year Awards gets underway.
The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Pubs launched the second year of the awards this week. The award focuses on celebrating pubs in our community and gives MPs the opportunity to nominate a local pub to be recognised for the prestigious award of Parliamentary Pub of the Year.
“I’m delighted to be supporting these awards for the second year. We have loads of brilliant pubs in Bury, Tottington and Ramsbottom and this year I want us to win the top prize!
“The main criteria is a pub that is great at what they do, this can include the range of beer or food provided, the dedication to serving the local community or a specialism in music or sports.
“All nominated pubs will be put to a public vote on my website and Facebook page and the winner will be my official nominee for the regional and national award. Get your nominations in today!”
Nominations should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. The pub must be located in the Bury North constituency, as must the nominees. The first stage of nominations will close on Friday 13th September, after which a public vote will be held on James’s Facebook page and website. Last year’s nominee, The Victoria Walshaw, can’t be nominated again.
